Castenray es un pueblo en el municipio de Venray con 835 habitantes y una superficie de 950 hectáreas. Justo al este del centro del pueblo se encuentra la A73. Al suroeste de Castenray se halla la reserva natural de 70 hectáreas llamada Castenrayse Vennen, situada alrededor del valle del Lollebeek. En el lado oeste de Castenray, en el límite del pueblo, se encuentra la 'Castenrayse Berg'. Esta es una zona forestal con dunas móviles. También se localiza allí la zona de captación de agua Breehei. Castenray se sitúa a una altitud de aproximadamente 25 metros. El Lollebeek nace en el suroeste de Castenray y desemboca en el sureste en el Gran Molenbeek. En la carretera Castenrayseweg, al este de la A73, comienza un bonito sendero que sigue el Lollebeek serpenteante y un estanque de De Diepeling hacia el Gran Molenbeek.
