Markelo es una aldea neerlandesa en Twente, provincia de Overijssel. Pertenece al municipio de Hof van Twente. Hasta la reorganización municipal del 1 de enero de 2001, la aldea era la sede del municipio homónimo de Markelo.
El nombre Markelo significa bosque que indica una separación o límite. El paisaje alrededor de la aldea es ondulado hasta una altura de más de 40 metros.
