El molino fue construido en 1865 aproximadamente en el mismo lugar donde había estado un molino de poste que fue demolido ese año. Ya en 1607 debió haber un molino aquí. El molino fue construido contra el molino de caballos existente, cuyas contornos aún son visibles en el cuerpo del molino. El techo del molino de caballos fue elevado más tarde. La rueda del molino de caballos de este molino estaba en el granero del heno de la granja halli y ahora se encuentra en el molino. En 1911 se construyó el granero de molienda en el lado noroeste. En él se instaló una mesa de molienda impulsada por un motor diésel.
