Nijeveen es una aldea en el suroeste de la provincia neerlandesa de Drenthe. La aldea tiene una superficie de más de 25 km². Nijeveen era un municipio independiente al que también pertenecían las aldeas de Kolderveen, Nijeveense Bovenboer y Kolderveense Bovenboer. Desde la reorganización municipal en 1998, Nijeveen c.a. es parte del municipio de Meppel. El último alcalde de Nijeveen fue Henk van der Woude. Una parte más pequeña de los más de 3600 habitantes es protestante cristiana, los demás habitantes son de otra denominación religiosa o no pertenecen a ninguna iglesia.
