El Schipbeek es un afluente del IJssel. Se llama así desde la trampa de arena en Diepenheim. Antes se le llamaba Buurserbeek o Ahauser Aa, que nace al otro lado de la frontera en Alemania. El arroyo fue canalizado desde la tardía Edad Media. Todo el trayecto del Schipbeek ha sido designado como zona de conexión ecológica. Desde el origen hasta la desembocadura en el IJssel. El cauce tiene *aproximadamente* 20 kilómetros de largo y *aproximadamente* 10 metros de ancho en la mayoría de los lugares en dirección a Deventer.
