El castillo de Bredevoort es una fortaleza desaparecida en el corazón de la ciudad de Bredevoort. Fue el centro de la antigua señoría de Bredevoort en los Países Bajos. La fecha de construcción exacta es desconocida, pero alrededor de 1188 el castillo fue mencionado en una lista de propiedades del Arzobispado de Colonia. En 1238, el castillo pasó a ser propiedad de los condes de Lohn y de los señores de Steinfurt por herencia. Hermann I de Lohn y Ludolf de Steinfurt hicieron significativas mejoras en el castillo, y bajo Hermann II de Lohn, el lecho del Boven-Schlinge se desvió hacia Bredevoort para inundar los fosos del castillo. En 1246 y 1255, los Lohn ofrecieron su parte del castillo, así como algunas parroquias ubicadas en Achterhoek, al conde de Gelre Otto II como feudo.
