El túnel de Maastunnel es el túnel hundido más antiguo de los Países Bajos. Conecta las orillas del Nieuwe Maas en Róterdam. El túnel consta de cuatro tubos: dos para automóviles, uno para ciclistas y uno para peatones. La construcción comenzó en 1937 y se completó en 1942. Diariamente, más de 75,000 vehículos motorizados y alrededor de 7,000 ciclistas y motorizados, además de 150 peatones, utilizan este túnel. Por lo tanto, el túnel de Maastunnel es un enlace importante en la red de carreteras de Róterdam. Hay un límite de velocidad de 50 km/h para el tráfico rápido.
