La Biblioteca Universitaria de Leiden es la biblioteca de la Universidad de los Países Bajos en Leiden. Fue fundada en 1575 y forma parte del reducido número de centros culturales que, en la Edad Moderna, dieron forma al desarrollo y difusión del conocimiento. La biblioteca contiene fuentes únicas de alta calidad y abarca aproximadamente 5.200.000 volúmenes, 1.000.000 de e-libros, 70.000 revistas electrónicas, 2.000 revistas en papel en curso, 60.000 manuscritos orientales y occidentales, 500.000 cartas, 100.000 mapas, 100.000 grabados, 12.000 dibujos y 300.000 fotos. La biblioteca gestiona las colecciones más grandes del mundo en el ámbito de Indonesia y el Caribe. Además, la UB Leiden es la única organización patrimonial en los Países Bajos con tres inscripciones de documentos en la Lista del Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO / Memoria del Mundo.
