La estación, del tipo estándar HESM, estaba ubicada en la línea de ferrocarril Aalsmeer - Amsterdam Willemspark, y fue inaugurada el 1 de mayo de 1915. El 3 de septiembre de 1950 la estación se cerró al tráfico de pasajeros. Hasta el 27 de mayo de 1972 aún estaba en uso para el transporte de mercancías.
Desde el 3 de abril de 1983, la Línea de Tranvía Eléctrico del Museo de Ámsterdam tiene una parada aquí. Hasta el 25 de abril de 1997, este también era el punto final de la línea de tranvía del museo. En el lado norte, cerca del viaducto sobre la carretera nacional 9, se ha construido un lugar de cambio.
