La casa ya se menciona en un registro de feudos del Obispo de Utrecht a finales del siglo XIV. Una de las primeras menciones conocidas data de 1465, cuando Johan van Zuylen van Natewisch fue feudalizado con ella. El nombre en ese entonces era Sulensteyne. Durante la limpieza de los escombros después del bombardeo de 1945 se encontraron ladrillos de esa época.
