Son fusilados como rehenes y sus cuerpos son enterrados en una fosa. Es una acción de venganza del ocupante debido a un atentado fallido contra un oficial de policía de Tilburg.
En el pasado se hicieron muchos intentos para encontrar la fosa común. Nunca se logró, ni siquiera después de un amplio despliegue de material de defensa.
