La Biesbosch holandesa es una zona natural entre el Nieuwe Merwede y el Beneden-Merwede. Junto con la Biesbosch de Brabante, forma parte del Parque Nacional De Biesbosch. La Biesbosch holandesa se compone de la Biesbosch de Sliedrecht y la Biesbosch de Dordrecht. Ambas se encuentran en el municipio de Dordrecht. La parte de Dordrecht es menos agreste, más accesible y en su mayor parte está formada por polders. La Biesbosch de Sliedrecht está conectada a través del Wantij con el Beneden Merwede, lo que genera una diferencia de marea de aproximadamente 70 cm y velocidades de corriente de hasta 4 km/h. La zona es accesible por agua, desde Dordrecht a través del Wantij, desde el Beneden-Merwede a través de la Helsluis y desde el Nieuwe Merwede a través de la Ottersluis.
