Después de 1648, el ejercicio de la religión católica romana fue prohibido para siempre en y alrededor de Breda. Cuatro años más tarde, se establecieron cuatro iglesias clandestinas en la ciudad. Uno de esos edificios todavía existe, la casa 'De Wereld en la esquina' de la calle Vismarktstraat y la calle Schoolstraat. En el lado de la calle Schoolstraat se puede ver que es un edificio muy profundo. Una casa de esquina con dos entradas se consideraba una oportunidad ideal para la iglesia. Se presume que la casa fue utilizada como iglesia clandestina hasta 1666. El edificio estaba provisionalmente acondicionado como espacio de iglesia. Sobre el altar colgaba un motivo navideño que provenía de la Gran Iglesia. Alrededor, se habían colgado trozos de tela en las paredes para evitar que los asistentes a la iglesia ensuciaran sus ropas de blanco al apoyarse contra la pared. En este edificio ahora se encuentra Studio Dependance.
