Dopo il 1648, l'esercizio della religione cattolica romana fu vietato per sempre a Breda e nei suoi dintorni. Quattro anni dopo, nella città furono allestite quattro chiese clandestine. Uno di questi edifici esiste ancora oggi, la casa 'De Wereld' all'angolo tra Vismarktstraat e Schoolstraat. Lato Schoolstraat si può notare che è un edificio molto profondo. Una casa d'angolo con due ingressi era considerata una posizione ideale per la chiesa. Probabilmente la casa è stata utilizzata come chiesa clandestina fino al 1666. L'edificio era allestito in modo provvisorio come spazio di culto. Sopra l'altare pendeva un presepe proveniente dalla Grote Kerk. Attorno alle pareti erano appesi pezzi di stoffa per evitare che i visitatori della chiesa si sporcassero i vestiti appoggiandosi ai muri. In questo edificio ora si trova Studio Dependance.
