De Kwakel es una aldea en el municipio de Uithoorn, en el sur de la provincia holandesa de Holanda Septentrional, cerca de la frontera con Holanda Meridional. La aldea tiene 4.480 habitantes. De Kwakel está rodeada por Uithoorn, Kudelstaart y Aalsmeer. El nombre histórico de De Kwakel es Quackel. La historia de De Kwakel comenzó a partir del año 1000 como resultado del inicio de la explotación de las áreas de turba de Holanda. Desde el Sticht, los agricultores entraron en la zona de turba para convertir los pantanos boscosos en tierras de cultivo y construir una nueva vida para sí mismos. Con esto, llevaron esta área bajo el control del Sticht Utrecht. La tierra alrededor del flujo de turba, el Drecht, desde Uithoorn, Amstel, fue una de las primeras áreas que comenzaron a ser explotadas.
