El castillo de Empel y Meerwijk era un castillo medieval justo al norte de 's-Hertogenbosch. Lo único que queda es un terreno donde se han visualizado las contornos del castillo.
El castillo era la sede original de los señores de Empel y Meerwijk, ahora Empel y Meerwijk. El nombre actual del castillo es Castillo de Empel y Meerwijk, o Castillo de Empel y Meerwijk, lo que lo designa como tal. Es decir, el nombre Castillo de Empel y Meerwijk es una construcción, que nunca se utilizó antes del siglo XX. Antes se llamaba Castillo Meerwijk o Slot Meerwijk, pero ese nombre fue posteriormente adoptado por el Castillo Meerwijk, originalmente conocido como Nieuw Meerwijk. En fuentes anteriores al siglo XIX, el castillo a menudo se designa como la Casa de Empel.
