El Solsche Gat es una llamada charca de arcilla donde los agricultores de Veluwe extraían arcilla. En el fondo de la fosa se ha formado un terreno pantanoso con un estanque. En el suelo encharcado se ha desarrollado una flora especial para Veluwe. Aquí crecen, entre otras, el tres hojas de agua, la primula esbelta y la anémona de bosque. El estanque constituye un lugar de bebida para la fauna en esta parte de Veluwe. Los anfibios como las pequeñas salamandras de agua y los sapos se reproducen en la zona pantanosa. Debido a que se temía que el Solsche Gat se secara, Staatsbosbeheer restauró la fosa en 2002.
