Los tres transbordadores que cruzan el Bergse Maas (Drongelse Veer, Capelse Veer y Bernse Veer) fueron gratuitos hasta febrero de 2024. Esta fue la concesión que hizo el gobierno a la población del Bergse Maas hace más de un siglo. Este río artificial, en realidad un canal, se puso en servicio en 1904 para trasladar la desembocadura del Mosa desde Woudrichem hasta Lage Zwaluwe. Esto puso fin a las recurrentes inundaciones en el Merwede.
Sin embargo, en febrero de 2024 finalizó el servicio gratuito para el tráfico motorizado. Los peatones y ciclistas seguirán beneficiándose del traslado gratuito.
