"Tato" "pani" significa literalmente "fuente termal".
Por eso Tatopani es más conocido. Fue una gran atracción turística hasta 1980. Hoy en día no se recomienda ir a Tatopani específicamente por las aguas termales (hay 2 de ellas: Tatopani y Paudwar) , pero los que vienen al circuito de Annapurna deben visitarlas.
Desde aquí, el circuito de Annapurna asciende a Ghorepani y Poon Hill o más abajo a Beni. Aquí hay mucho turismo.
El Kali Ghandaki es muy estrecho desde aquí y, por lo tanto, el desfiladero es profundo e impresionante.
En 2015 , Tatopani también se vio afectada por el terremoto que mató a casi 9.000 personas.
