El dragón fue comprado en Coimbra , donde adornaba una fuente en el centro de la ciudad.
Esta obra ganó el premio artístico “Utopía 2009” – Centro Portugués de Arte Fantástico.
La relación con la ciudad podría deberse a que el dragón verde era uno de los símbolos de los suevos . Cuando invadieron la península Ibérica en el siglo V, se asentaron en la antigua provincia romana de Galicia y fundaron un reino con Braga como capital.
