The dragon was purchased in Coimbra where it adorned a fountain in the city centre.
This work won the artistic prize “Utopia 2009” – Portuguese Center for Fantastic Art.
The connection with the city could be because the green dragon was one of the symbols of the Suevi . When they invaded the Iberian Peninsula in the 5th century, they settled in the old Roman province of Galicia and founded a kingdom with Braga as its capital.
