De draak werd gekocht in Coimbra waar het een fontein in het stadscentrum sierde.
Dit werk won de artistieke prijs “Utopia 2009” – Portugees Centrum voor Fantastische Kunst.
De connectie met de stad zou kunnen komen doordat de groene draak een van de symbolen van de Sueven was. Toen zij in de 5e eeuw het Iberisch Schiereiland binnenvielen, vestigden zij zich in de oude Romeinse provincie Galicië en stichtten een koninkrijk met Braga als hoofdstad.
