Esta capilla probablemente ya existía en el año 953 y fue mencionada en 1059 en el inventario de bienes pertenecientes al Monasterio de Guimarães, pero era referida como Capilla de San Julián .
El interior es de planta irregular y presenta bellos azulejos de los siglos XVII y XVIII y artesonados decorados con escenas bíblicas o figuras de santos.
En el lado sur de la capilla hay una alta escalera , rematada por una plataforma, donde se colocó una cruz de piedra en 1940 y desde donde se tiene una hermosa panorámica de la ciudad, la desembocadura del río y el mar.
