Upsala es un municipio de la provincia de Upsala, Suecia, en la provincia histórica de Uppland. Su sede se encuentra en la ciudad universitaria de Upsala.
El municipio actual se formó durante la reforma municipal de 1971 con la fusión de la ciudad de Upsala con los municipios rurales de Almunge, Björklinge, Bälinge, Knivsta, Norra Hagunda y Vattholma, así como partes de Knutby . En 1974 se incorporaron partes del municipio disuelto de Öland . En 2003, el área que formó el municipio rural de Knivsta se separó para formar el municipio de Knivsta.[3]
