La avenida Georgia o Georgia Avenue es una arteria de norte a sur en el Noroeste de Washington D. C. y el condado de Montgomery. Dentro del Distrito de Columbia, la avenida Georgia también es la U.S. Route 29. Tanto como la Universidad Howard y Walter Reed Army Medical Center están en la avenida Georgia.[1] La longitud total de la avenida es de 24 millas , de los cuales 5 millas están en Washington D. C.
La avenida Georgia originalmente se llamaba 7th Street Extended, y luego Brightwood Avenue, hasta recibir su nombre actual. Anteriormente, la avenida Potomac en el Sureste de Washington se llamaba Georgia Avenue. [2]
