Wängle est situé à l'ouest de Reutte dans le bassin de Reuttener au pied de la station de ski et de randonnée du Hahnenkamm. Il fait partie des plus anciennes zones d'habitation de l'Außerfern. Le village en forme de groupe a largement fusionné avec les hameaux environnants. Le village de Hinterbichl constitue une enclave située dans le territoire communal de Lechaschau.
