Le château de Greinburg est situé directement sur le Danube dans le Strudengau/Haute-Autriche. Il appartient à la ville de Grein dans le Bas-Mühlviertel. Le château est l’emblème de la ville et le plus ancien palais résidentiel d’Autriche. Son aspect actuel est déterminé par le complexe du château de la fin du Moyen Âge de 1488 à 1493 et les reconstructions des XVIe et XVIIe siècles.
