Innsbruck est une ville autrichienne située dans l'ouest du pays, dans une vallée au cœur des Alpes ; elle est la deuxième plus grande ville d'Europe dans cette situation, après sa jumelle alpine Grenoble. Elle est la capitale du Land du Tyrol, et est traversée par la rivière l'Inn.Elle est la cinquième ville d'Autriche du point de vue de la population, après Vienne, Graz, Linz et Salzbourg. La ville comptait environ 121 000 habitants en 2012, 131 000 en 2021, 190 000 avec l'agglomération.
