Grinzens est une commune de 1458 habitants dans le district d'Innsbruck-Land en Tyrol. La commune se situe dans le district judiciaire d'Innsbruck. Grinzens se trouve sur un plateau montagnard au sud-ouest d'Innsbruck, à l'entrée de la vallée de Sellrain. Le territoire communal est délimité par la Melach et le Sendersbach. L'urbanisation allongée s'étend principalement le long d'une route qui va de Sellrain jusqu'à l'extrémité ouest d'Axams et se divise dans le village en une branche, parallèle à la Neder. Au-dessus de l'Anger, on parle d'Obergrinzens, en dessous, près de l'église du village, d'Untergrinzens.
