Mostar est une ville de Bosnie-Herzégovine située dans le canton d'Herzégovine-Neretva et dans la fédération de Bosnie-et-Herzégovine. Selon les premiers résultats du recensement bosnien de 2013, la ville intra muros compte 65 286 habitants et sa zone métropolitaine, appelée Grad Mostar, 113 169.
Mostar est le centre administratif du canton de Herzégovine-Neretva. Depuis 2005, le « Quartier du Vieux pont de la vieille ville de Mostar » est inscrit sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO.
