Le parc de la Citadelle est situé sur la crête entre l'Escaut et la Lys. C'est ici qu'était autrefois la citadelle hollandaise, construite entre 1819 et 1831. Mais il ne reste que quelques petites reliques. C'était aussi une partie du site de l'exposition universelle de 1913. 780 arbres, dont certains exemplaires rares, constituent une attraction supplémentaire.
