L’ancien château comtal de Rochefort se trouve en Wallonie au sud de la ville belge de Rochefort, dans la province de Namur, sur une éminence rocheuse dans une boucle de la Lomme. Les parties les plus anciennes, dont le donjon, datent du XIIe siècle. Il est aujourd’hui en ruines.C'est en 1155 qu'on trouve une première mention du château des comtes de Rochefort mais il est probablement plus ancien.En 1285 apparaît la distinction entre forteresse et ville .
