Le moulin a été construit en 1790 et transféré en 1923 de Pittem (anciennement le Kruisbergmolen, situé de l'autre côté de la route en face du Rijsselendemolen) comme remplacement du Steenakkermolen détruit par la guerre. Le moulin à vent en état de moudre broie maintenant régulièrement des aliments pour animaux et de la farine. Grâce à son excellente position sur l'éperon occidental du plateau de 's Graventafel, le moulin est visible de loin.
