Le "bois du trou de l’enfer" est un domaine boisé qui couvre le sommet ainsi que les flancs nord et ouest du Mont Rouge. Son nom fait référence à un "ravin" profond au pied du flanc de la colline. Au printemps, en particulier, le bois est un endroit magnifique pour se promener, car les anémones des bois et les jacinthes sauvages y déroulent un tapis aux nuances blanches et bleues. Plusieurs sources jaillissent au pied du mont. Une partie du domaine a été aménagée en bois de jeu.
