El Hellegatbos se refiere al área boscosa que cubre la cima y los flancos norte y oeste de la Rodeberg. El nombre hace referencia a un profundo 'desfiladero' en la parte inferior de la ladera de la colina (el 'hueco en el infierno'; 'helle' significa 'colina'). Especialmente en primavera, el bosque es un lugar maravilloso para pasear, ya que en esa época los anémonas de bosque y las jacintos silvestres crean una alfombra de tonos blancos y azules. Al pie de la montaña brotan varias fuentes. Una parte del área también está diseñada como un bosque de juegos.
