Das Hellegatbos bezeichnet das Waldgebiet, das die Spitze sowie die nördlichen und westlichen Flanken des Rodebergs bedeckt. Der Name bezieht sich auf eine tiefe 'Schlucht' an der Hügelseite (das 'Loch in der Hölle'; 'helle' bedeutet 'Hügel'). Besonders im Frühjahr ist der Wald ein wunderbarer Ort zum Wandern, da dann die Waldanemonen und wilden Hyazinthen für einen Teppich aus weißen und blauen Farbtönen sorgen. Am Fuße des Berges entspringen verschiedene Quellen. Ein Teil des Gebiets ist auch als Spielwald eingerichtet.
Zugänglich von Sonnenaufgang bis Sonnenuntergang.
