La chapelle sur le rempart est ce qu’on appelle l’Achterkapelleke. Il a été construit au milieu du 19ème siècle par les religieuses bénédictines qui s’y sont installées dès 1690.
Ils soignent des patients psychiatriques depuis trois siècles. C’est en l’honneur de ces sœurs que la Benedictinesstraat porte son nom.
Dans l’Achterkapelleke se trouve la statue de Notre-Dame des remparts.
