Lorsque Hoeke, qui est un quartier de la ville de Damme, était le carrefour du commerce allemand au 13ème siècle, l'authentique église Saint-Pierre-en-chaîne a été construite. Cette charmante église à une nef possède encore une voûte en berceau. Par temps ensoleillé, l'église est ouverte au public.
