Cheratte est une section de la commune belge de Visé située en Région wallonne dans la province de Liège.Le village est constitué de deux parties : Cheratte-Bas, situé dans la vallée de la Meuse, notamment connu pour son ancien charbonnage, et Cheratte-Hauteurs, situé sur le bord du plateau de Herve. Le viaduc de Cheratte, surplombant la tranchée du même nom ainsi que l'autoroute E40, relie la partie haute du village au plateau de Herve en venant de la vallée de la Meuse.
