Le Bouvelobos est une réserve naturelle de Flandre orientale située au bord des Ardennes flamandes à Wortegem-Petegem. La forêt fait partie du réseau écologique flamand et est protégée par l’Europe dans le cadre de la zone Natura 2000 Forêts des Ardennes flamandes et d’autres forêts flamandes du sud. Il s’agit principalement d’une hêtraie qui n’est pas librement accessible. Les Bouvelobos faisaient partie d’une grande zone forestière avec les forêts d’Oud-Moregem. Au 18ème siècle, des bandes de voleurs s’y cachent, dont celle de Jan de Lichte. Dans la forêt de Bouvelo, la jacinthe sauvage, l’épilade, le canard, l’anémone de forêt, l’herbe de la vallée, entre autres, fleurissent. Fourmi forestière, souris gland, ver noisetier y vivent.
