La gare a été construite en 1879-1880 par la société privée Grand Central Belge. Les trois travées de gauche ont été rehaussées en 1901 avec un deuxième niveau. La lampisterie a également été construite en 1879 mais a été démolie au milieu des années 1990. Les postes de signalisation datent du début du 20e siècle.
