Cimetière militaire belge d’Oeren

Durant la Première Guerre mondiale, un cimetière militaire a été aménagé tout autour de la petite église d'Oeren, une section de la commune d’Alveringem. Les corps de 508 soldats belges reposent dans ce cimetière. Jadis, on y trouvait de nombreuses croix de héros, caractérisées par les lettres AVV-VVK
En février 1918, les lettres AVV-VVK de 38 sépultures ont été maculées. Actuellement, il subsiste encore 5 pierres tombales en hommage aux héros.
