Le Zennegat est un carrefour géographique d'hydrografie. C'est l'endroit où la Zenne rejoint le canal Leuven-Dijle ou le chemin de Leuven. Ensemble, ils s'écoulent ensuite dans la Dijle, qui se jette à quelques centaines de mètres plus loin dans la Nete pour former la Rupel. La section de la Dijle entre le Zennegat et l'embouchure dans la Rupel est communément appelée Koestaart.
