Entre le centre du village de Meldert et le Collège Saint-Jean s'étend le Meldertbos, qui couvre 40 hectares. Le Meldertbos est à l'origine un jardin français classique qui était adjacent au Château de Meldert. En 1911, à l'initiative de la famille de Lantsheere, le jardin français a été remplacé par un parc dans le style romantique paysager anglais.
