Vers 1900, au début de la Tiegstraat, le long du sentier aujourd’hui disparu qui reliait le Kaperij, il y avait encore sept maigres maisons qui ont reçu le nom de Djabs. Les maisons ont été construites en argile et le toit était en paille. L’origine du nom Djabs est inconnue. Une fabrique de limonade a été établie le long de la Tiegstraat avant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, qui a reçu le nom de Tiegbronnen. L’eau venait de sortir d’une route et était d’une qualité exceptionnelle. De nombreuses personnes du quartier de Bosgat s’y rendaient quotidiennement pour s’approvisionner en eau claire.
