Le Neigembos est une zone naturelle et forestière de 72 ha à Meerbeke qui est protégée par l’Europe dans le cadre de la zone de la directive Natura 2000 sur l’habitat « Forêts des Ardennes flamandes et autres forêts de Flandre méridionale ». C’est, tout comme la forêt de Soignes, un vestige de l’ancienne forêt de charbon. La forêt couvre un dénivelé de 20 à 90m au-dessus du niveau de la mer à la frontière entre les Ardennes flamandes et le Pajottenland. La majeure partie de Neigembos est une réserve forestière.
