Construit en 1912 comme l'un des 18 forts faisant partie de la ceinture extérieure de la ceinture d'Anvers. Le Fort avec ses fossés fait partie de la zone naturelle autour du Klein Schietveld. Le fort n'est pas ouvert à la visite et sert d'hôtel d'hiver pour 550 chauves-souris.
