Le large diamètre du tronc de cette espèce à croissance lente suggère déjà un âge respectable, probablement plus de cent ans. Il était autrefois habituel de tailler le buis, mais il n'y a plus aucune trace de cette gestion. Le buis est ici un petit arbre avec une couronne en pleine croissance.
