Dans le Praetbos, en dehors de Vladslo, abandonné par Dieu et les hommes, repose le jeune Peter Kollwitz, dans une fosse commune de soldats, et je ne connais pas de monde plus paisible, d'arbres plus sereins, pas de cathédrale plus belle, pour prier et rêver. On peut aussi ramasser des noisettes, ou méditer en silence, si tu dois montrer la joue droite, il faut également présenter la gauche. Parfois, des enfants viennent jouer et des amants s'embrassent tendrement, car la mousse y est si douce, pour dormir et pour pleurer.
