Ce châtaignier à cinq troncs est situé dans le domaine provincial Lippensgoed-Bulskampveld à Beernem, dans une pinède mixte à feuilles caduques. Le fagot de plus de 100 ans d'âge, avec une circonférence de plus de 6 mètres, est populairement connu sous le nom de "De Vijfling". L'arbre est particulièrement remarquable par sa forme de croissance. C'est un arbre en botte, créé en poussant ensemble plusieurs arbres qui ont été plantés dans le même trou de plantation, c'est une façon d'obtenir rapidement des arbres épais.
Il mesure 25 m de haut.
Cet arbre est protégé depuis le 14/07/2010 et figure donc sur la liste du patrimoine immobilier.
